The LA stop of the Green Festival is this weekend at the LA Convention Center. Connect with local communities to find ideas and innovations to help take the next green steps. Hundreds of speakers, exhibitors, DIY workshops... It stops in downtown Nov. 17-18. See the Online Event Guide. Admission is affordable on any budget. The fest is beinh held at the LA Convention Center: 1201 Figueroa St., intersection of the Santa Monica (10) and Harbor (110) freeways. Event hours are 10:00 am-7:00 pm Saturday and 11:00 am-6:00 pm Sunday. Exhibitors have have passed the Green America screening process for leadership in social and environmental responsibility and have earned the Green America Seal of Approval for their commitment.

NSA is spying on texts, emails, calls (video)

"Brain-whatting?" "Never mind, go to sleep."

(DN) National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower William Binney drops a bombshell: Domestic surveillance has become more expansive under Pres. Obama than Pres. Bush. 

  

He estimates that the NSA has assembled 20 trillion "transactions" -- phone calls, emails, and many other forms of data such as texts -- produced by ordinary law-abiding Americans. 

  

"We need more money like the NSA gets."

This includes copies of almost all of the emails sent and received from most people living in the United States. 

  

Binney talks about Section 215 of the USA PATRIOT Act and challenges NSA Director Keith Alexander's assertion that the NSA is not intercepting information about U.S. citizens.
