Samsung Galaxy Tab ten.1 (Verizon Wireless)

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Verizon Wireless)When we reviewed the Wi-Fi–only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab ten.1, we have a tendency to found it an honest, skinny Android pill relegated to a category below the Apple iPad solely due to its operating system’s lack of tablet-friendly apps. we've principally a similar feelings regarding the new Galaxy Tab ten.1 for Verizon Wireless, that adds LTE coverage and speeds, subtracts (for now) the TouchWiz interface, and polishes the hardware a trifle. It’s an honest device, however its tiny software choice remains an enormous downside.

Design variations
From the front, solely the foremost discerning of eyes can notice the variations between the 2 Galaxy Tab ten.1 models: The Verizon device’s chassis could be a slightly darker grey color, and also the Power and Volume buttons are moved from the highest to the left aspect. i favor the left-side buttons, as they’re nearer to where your hands naturally rest once you hold the pill in landscape mode, however it’s purely personal preference. The Verizon model additionally includes a SIM card slot on the highest of the device. Otherwise, the 2 are nearly identical: they're a similar size and nearly a similar weight (1.23 pounds for the LTE model and one.22 for the Wi-Fi model, leading me to believe that the SIM card makes the difference).

The one placing amendment, and a large improvement, is that the redesign of the rear of the Galaxy Tab. The Wi-Fi model includes a slick, plasticky back which will be onerous to grip; the Verizon model remains plastic, however it's a brushed-metal look and a textured feel that's each nicer to seem at and easier to carry.

Software
When the Galaxy Tab was originally released, it shipped while not TouchWiz, Samsung’s skin for Android. Samsung modified that in August, shipping TouchWiz as a software update. If you don’t wish TouchWiz, your best bet is to shop for the Verizon version, that Samsung hasn’t skinned nonetheless.

This is pure Honeycomb, with nearly nothing within the approach of additional applications; Quickoffice and Media Hub are here, and that’s it. Samsung did customise the keyboard, however typically what you’re obtaining for now's Honeycomb because it was supposed to be. Samsung did not answer our queries relating to this Tab ten.1 and Touchwiz.

Performance and LTE
In our tests, the Tegra 2–powered Galaxy Tab ten.1 performed a bit like the Wi-Fi version, that is to mention it’s terribly quick. From the browser performance to its graphical talents, it’s as quick as any Android pill out there.

The Galaxy Tab ten.1 for Verizon definitely earns its “4G” credentials. we have a tendency to tested the LTE signal in Midtown Manhattan and noticed spectacular results: between sixteen and 19Mbps down, and four to 5Mbps up. Those rates are each high for an LTE device, and mean you won’t be hurting for speed. The Tab 10.1 can even be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot, thus you'll tether your different devices to it. generally there’s a large speed loss once you tether, which was the case here too, however we have a tendency to still saw between fourteen and 15Mbps down and a couple of to 3Mbps up.

To make use of those blazing speeds you’ll want a Verizon LTE broadband arrange. These run from $30 per month for 2GB of knowledge (which you’ll burn up quickly) to $80 per month for 10GB. The mobile hotspot options can value you an additional $20 per month, and additionally provide you with 2GB of additional monthly information.

Samsung rates the battery lifetime of the LTE Galaxy Tab ten.1 at one2 hours of use. Our take a look at results are going to be posted here shortly.

Like its Wi-Fi predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Tab ten.1 on Verizon is a superb pill, with superlative LTE speeds and hardware. however consider the information arrange necessary to urge those LTE speeds and also the Galaxy Tab is an upscale venture; consider Android’s lack of apps and it’s an inconvenient and frustrating one further. however if a quick, always-connected pill is what you would like, you’ll realize it here.

T-Mobile might Suffer if AT&T Deal Fails

When AT&T agreed to shop for T-Mobile USA in March, the deal gave the impression of a contented fate for an organization that had been losing customers and facing declining sales.

But ought to the lawsuit filed by the Justice Department on Wednesday kill the proposed merger, some analysts say it may leave T-Mobile during a a lot of worse position than it absolutely was before the deal was announced, its competitiveness sapped by months spent in limbo.

“This could be a business that's treading water,” said Robin Bienenstock, an analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein & Company who tracks T-Mobile and Deutsche Telekom, its parent company. “They ought to return into the market within the meantime, and that they are attending to ought to work out some way to create momentum in their core business.”

T-Mobile has long staked its name on giving low-cost service plans. however in recent months, the corporate has lost ground to its larger rivals, AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint, that have lured away subscribers with common devices just like the iPhone and also the promise of faster networks and services.

The company’s position is very precarious given the evolving state of the wireless business, that is increasingly centered on customers willing to get expensive smartphones and also the knowledge plans that keep company with them. it'll be tougher for an organization that emphasizes lower costs to remain afloat in that market, specialists say.

T-Mobile’s share of the u.  s. wireless market has slipped to ten p.c from twelve p.c in 2008, in line with Chetan Sharma, an freelance wireless analyst. “The biggest downside has been stagnant adds,” he said, which means new subscribers. Over the last eight quarters, the mobile business has added a web thirty three million customers; T-Mobile has added solely eighty nine,000 of these.

But T-Mobile might have one ace up its sleeve, said Ms. Bienenstock: a network that's not clogged with innumerable data-guzzling users. And though T-Mobile has not nonetheless begun to roll out LTE, the fourth-generation wireless technology that its peers are already using or putting in place place, it's invested giant sums in upgrading its existing network, that uses a technology known as HSPA+ that analysts say rivals the speeds of LTE.

The company may try and charm to folks yearning for an inexpensive thanks to stream movies, songs and alternative content on their smartphones and tablets — a tactic that would have leverage, considering that AT&T and Verizon each recently place limits on what quantity knowledge customers may use while not paying further. T-Mobile is additional lenient with the bounds on most of its plans, slowing the access speeds for its heaviest users rather than charging additional.

“They have a comparatively empty and quick network,” said Ms. Bienenstock. “You will sell low-cost knowledge and create it pretty profitable.”

But T-Mobile’s biggest challenge could also be that it's now not the sole worth proposition for mobile subscribers.

Consumer Reports found that customers spent $20 to $50 less per month using T-Mobile than with carriers like AT&T and Verizon. however lots of smaller contenders are trying to expand their share of the market, together with Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, Leap and MetroPCS.

“For a protracted time, they were the worth whole for tykes and teenagers,” said Jan Dawson, an analyst at Ovum, a technology analysis firm. “It’s obtaining quite crowded in their core territory. Their solely hope could also be to reinvent themselves entirely.”

T-Mobile failed to reply to missive of invitation for comment. Its parent company issued an announcement on Wednesday saying that it'd be part of AT&T in defending the merger set up in court.

Complicating matters for T-Mobile is that it's largely remained motionless for many months whereas looking ahead to the deal to shut. it's probably, analysts say, that T-Mobile froze any negotiations with Apple and alternative hardware vendors over new phones to avoid competing with AT&T on pricing and unharness dates.

That could hinder the carrier’s ability to dazzle potential subscribers with new smartphones within the coming back months — a severe handicap to growth if the corporate weren't attending to be folded into AT&T.

The plot thickens if Apple announces a touch upon Sprint to distribute the iPhone, as is widely expected. that might leave T-Mobile because the nation’s solely major carrier while not the phone.

The Web has been packed with speculation that anyone from Google to Sprint might accelerate with a bid to shop for T-Mobile. however analysts say that's unlikely to happen, largely as a result of Sprint is already grappling with a way to mix many technologies into one cohesive network. Adding T-Mobile’s technology to the combo would be a rich and Sisyphean task.

It is additionally unlikely that an organization like Google or Apple would toss its hat into the ring, say analysts, despite indications that each firms are trying to remodel the communications business. Neither would need the headache of running a telecommunications network or to run the danger of souring relations with alternative carrier partners.

In the longer run, analysts say, it appears probably that Deutsche Telekom, that has long itched for some way to exit the u.  s. market, can either spin T-Mobile off as an freelance entity or hunt for ways that to sell items of the corporate.

Some analysts say that a global company like NTT DoCoMo of Japan, France Télécom or Telefónica of Spain that desires to ascertain a footprint within the u.  s. may look to feature T-Mobile to its portfolio.

Others say T-Mobile may look engaging to a cable company like Comcast or Time Warner which will need to enter the wireless market. T-Mobile has five,400 cellular base stations, beating Verizon, that owns solely four,300.

Regardless of the result, analysts say T-Mobile is probably going to eventually shift hands, ideally to a replacement owner that may not upset the Justice Department.

“Deutsche Telekom has created it terribly clear that they don’t have any want to take a position additional within the U.S. market and that they don’t need to be the long-term house owners of this asset,” said Ms. Bienenstock of Sanford C. Bernstein. “But it'll be terribly valuable to somebody.”

Samsung’s Galaxy Note: Is it a pill or phone?

Lqum55nc

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note, a new 5.3-inch touchscreen device, on Thursday at the IFA mobile fair in Berlin.

But in asserting the new gadget, Samsung described the Note as neither a phone or a pill, however instead one thing completely different.

Whether shoppers find yourself shopping for into Samsung's vision -- rather than seeing the Note as simply an enormous phone or somewhat pill -- remains to be seen.

The 5.3-inch show is greater than simply regarding any smartphone, nevertheless it's smaller than most tablets, which generally run as tiny as a 7-inch screen size.

One thought that involves mind is whether or not or not the Note may repeat the class confusion of the Dell Streak five, that had a 5-inch touchscreen, ran Android and didn't catch up with shoppers in any important manner. Dell has since released a 7-inch version of the Dell Streak.

Samsung has high hopes for the Note, touting it as being the primary in a very "new class of product, developed through Samsung's deep shopper understanding and insight."

"It combines core on-the-go edges of assorted mobile devices whereas maintaining smartphone portability, to make a full new user expertise," Samsung said.

Another curiosity of the Note is that the inclusion of a stylus which will be used to require notes or draw, moreover as replace the tapping normally done on Android with a finger.

The move to incorporate a stylus echoes that of HTC's push for tablets with styluses, like its Jetstream, Evo read and Flyer tablets and a legion of PDAs before it (Newton, Palm Pilot, etc.)

"An advanced pen-input technology, referred to as the S Pen, is combined with the Galaxy Note's full touchscreen to introduce a replacement style of user expertise," Samsung said. "Through this, shoppers are ready to freely capture and build concepts whereas on the go."

So, will anyone really need a device that matches between tablets and phones, with a digital pen? Samsung appears to assume thus. What does one think? preach within the comments.

Samsung launches Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab seven.7

Samsung has unveiled 2 new tablets, one among that, the midsized Galaxy Note, is being pitched as a replacement for pen and paper.

The Android-based Galaxy Note options a pressure-sensitive "S Pen" that may be used to put in writing, draw and annotate a range of content varieties, as well as photos. the concept has been done before, with HTC's Flyer, however that tablet's stylus came as an expensive optional further that had to be bought separately.

Samsung's Galaxy Note's five.3in screen size is smaller than the Flyer and nearer to the scale of a customary notepad. The pill is nine.65mm wide and weighs 178g. The larger pill announced at the IFA technology show in Berlin on Thursday is that the Galaxy Tab seven.7, a rather enlarged version of Samsung's initial Android pill, unveiled a year ago.

According to Andrew Coughlin, head of account for Samsung Europe, the Galaxy Note comes with a memo application will|which will|that may} be quickly referred to as up therefore the user can jot down concepts. "Any screen may be captured and annotated with detailed commentary in your own handwriting," he said.

Samsung clearly sees an enormous future for pen-based input. the corporate can unleash a thusftware development kit (SDK) so third-party developers will write apps for the stylus – reference apps that have already been created with partners embrace a multiparty whiteboard application for business use.

It remains to be seen how the device are going to be priced within the UK or when it'll become offered. The Flyer, that is already obtaining long-in-the-tooth by pill standards, may be picked up for concerning £400.

Coughlin and different Samsung executives repeatedly observed the Galaxy Note as a primary device, suggesting that it will replace each the smartphone and therefore the larger pill size exemplified by the market-leading iPad.

The Galaxy Tab seven.7 may be a revision of the initial Galaxy Tab, that featured a rather smaller 7in screen. The refashion is thinner, lighter and brighter, measuring seven.89mm in thickness, weighing 335g and that includes constant Super AMOLED and screen technology that's utilized in the extraordinarily widespread Galaxy S II smartphone.

Super AMOLED and permits wide viewing angles, a feature that Apple has been keen to push with the IPS show on its iPad a pair of. each of Samsung's new tablets feature one.4GHz dual-core processors, that is concerning constant processing power that may be found in netbooks. By comparison, Apple's iPad a pair of is comparatively sluggish with its 1GHz processor.

Versions of the Galaxy Tab seven.7 are going to be created offered with a range of connectivity choices, as well as "4G" LTE and therefore the more-common 3G-based HSPA choice found in most smartphones.

At constant event, Samsung unveiled its Wave three handset, that runs the refashion a pair of.0 of the company's Bada operating system. Bada is an OS that Samsung is putting into a variety of handsets, from the low finish to smartphones.

Although the high finish of the market is nearly entirely taken up with smartphone-specific operating systems like iOS, Android and therefore the BlackBerry OS, Samsung said at Thursday's launch that it'll do its utmost to create Bada "one of the highest mobile platforms within the industry".

Government sues to dam AT&T, T-Mobile merger

WASHINGTON

The Justice Department filed suit Wednesday to dam AT&T's $39 billion deal to shop for T-Mobile USA on grounds that it might raise costs for customers.

The government contends that the acquisition of the No. four wireless carrier within the country by No. two AT&T would scale back competition which would result in worth will increase.

At a news conference, Deputy Attorney General James Cole said the mixture would end in "tens of innumerable customers all across the u.  s. facing higher costs, fewer decisions and lower quality merchandise for mobile wireless services."

The lawsuit seeks to make sure that everybody will still receive the advantages of competition, said Cole.

AT&T said it might fight and raise for an expedited court hearing "so the large advantages of this merger will be absolutely reviewed." the corporate said the govt "has the burden of proving alleged anti-competitive effects, and that we shall vigorously contest this matter in court."

Four nationwide suppliers -- Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint -- account for over ninety p.c of mobile wireless connections.

T-Mobile has been a crucial supply of competition, as well as through innovation and quality enhancements like the roll-out of the primary nationwide high-speed information network, in step with Sharis Pozen, acting chief of Justice's antitrust division.

Mobile wireless telecom services play an increasing role in day-to-day communications, with over three hundred million sensible phones, data cards, tablets and different mobile wireless devices in use.

Deutsche Telekom, the owner of T-Mobile, had no immediate comment.

The proposed cash-and-stock transaction would catapult AT&T past Verizon Wireless to become the nation's largest wireless supplier, and leave Sprint Nextel Corp. as a foreign variety 3.

In a statement, Sprint said the Justice Department's lawsuit "delivered a decisive victory for customers, competition and our country. By filing suit to dam AT&T's proposed takeover of T-Mobile, the DOJ has place consumers' interests initial."

AT&T and T-Mobile compete nationwide, in ninety seven of the biggest one hundred cellular selling areas, in step with the suit filed in U.S. District Court in Washington. They additionally vie for business and government customers.

The suit says AT&T's acquisition of T-Mobile would eliminate an organization that has been a competitive issue through low pricing and innovation. T-Mobile had the primary handset using the Android operating system, Blackberry wireless email, the Sidekick sensible phone, national Wi-Fi "hotspot" access and a range of unlimited service plans.

In support of its case, the department quoted an unidentified AT&T employee on a competitive issue, the subtle wireless broadband devices which will give high-speed information connections. The AT&T employee, in step with the suit, noted that T-Mobile was initial to possess such devices in its portfolio which "we added them in reaction to potential loss of speed claims."

Federal Communications Commission chairman Julius Genachowski said the record before his agency "raises serious considerations regarding the impact of the proposed transaction on competition." The FCC's separate review of the proposed merger isn't complete.

Commission member Michael Copps, a Democrat and a staunch opponent of trade consolidation, said that he shares "the considerations regarding competition and have various different considerations regarding the general public interest effects of the proposed transaction, as well as client selection and innovation."

Democratic Sen. Herb Kohl of Wisconsin, who heads the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on antitrust, competition policy and client rights, said the suit was a shot to safeguard customers "in a robust and growing trade that reaches nearly each yankee."

The suit used a number of T-Mobile's own documents describing its role within the market to elucidate why the merger should not occur. In those documents, the corporate calls itself "the No. one challenger of the established huge guys within the market and further positioned during a consolidated 4-player national market."

T-Mobile said its strategy is to attack different corporations and realize innovative ways that to beat the very fact that it's a smaller company.

T-Mobile "will be faster, additional agile and scrappy, with diligence on choices and prices each huge and tiny," one company document said. "Our approach to plug won't be typical, and that we can push to the boundaries where attainable."

Since AT&T initial announced the deal in March, it's insisted that buyers would have a selection of multiple wireless suppliers, as well as Leap, Metro PCS and U.S. Cellular, in several markets though the deal is approved.

But the department rejected that argument. It said regional suppliers face "significant competitive limitations" as a result of they are doing not have national networks. The department said the large investments and resources required to amass wireless spectrum and build a network build it terribly tough for brand new corporations to enter the wireless market.

AT&T and T-Mobile even have said the merger would scale back dropped and blocked calls, and speed mobile web connections for subscribers. Faster service would result by combining their restricted wireless spectrum holdings at a time when each corporations are running out of airwaves to handle mobile apps, on-line video and different bandwidth-hungry services.

Finding additional airwaves to stay up with the explosive growth of wireless broadband services may be a priority of the FCC and therefore the Obama administration.

But the Justice Department said AT&T might "obtain substantially identical network enhancements ... if it merely invested in its own network while not eliminating an in depth competitor."

English:The Sand Dust Calamity

  • Whispers of Solitude: Book 151 by Grand Master Sheng-yen Lu
  • Translated, edited, proofread by Lotus Cheng of www.tb-translation.org
Chapter 4 - The Sand Dust Calamity
Shakyamuni Buddha once said, "The human world is like a house on fire. Get out if you can."
We know what the Buddha meant. He was referring to the fact that we live in suffering and have to endure the countless pain and worries that press upon us in times of birth and death. We suffer from illness, from emotional entanglement, from aging, from ignorance and pain inflicted upon us outside and within us. Words are inadequate to describe these sufferings, which burn like a scotching flame, transforming everything into ashes instantly. There is simply not a moment's peace in all eternity.
Today, this solitary old man finally realizes that where I live is not just a house of flame. It is a house of sand too. Every morning, I have to scrub the floor as I like things to be clean and free from dust. However, after cleaning up in the morning, a thick layer of sand again deposits on the floor in the afternoon.
It is windy and sandy here in Tahiti. The sand dust is carried by the wind and even if you shut the door and windows, the sand dust will find its way into the house through the window gap and any opening along the door. Hence, you need to have a mop and cloth handy. Otherwise, if you do not clean the place often enough, you will find your fingers dusted with sand each time you touch the area.
First I dust the sand with the broom. Then I use the mop to wipe. Finally I bend down and clean the area with a cloth. This is how I, the solitary old man, gets his exercise while doing my chanting.
I thought of the magnificent view of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss:
"Again, as the breeze blows, flowers are scattered throughout the Buddha-land; they spontaneously divide into different colors, not mixed together. They are soft and pleasant to touch, glow brilliantly, and diffuse rich fragrances. When one's foot is placed on them, they sink down four inches, but when the foot is lifted, they rise to their former level. When the flowers have served their purpose, the earth opens up and they vanish, leaving the ground clean and without trace of them."
Look at the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Its colors are beautiful. Its fragrances are rich. It is soft and pure. Compare this to my 'house of sand', which is always dirty and dusty, it really blows my top!
Besides sand, there are ants, cockroaches, and unknown black insects that crawl around as I am working on my writings.
When will this 'sand dust calamity' of mine ever ends?
I shall write a poem, Ode to the Sand:
The natural wind delivers to me
Endless sand.
Sweeping from dawn to dust
Seems like it never ends.
To keep the place clean
Keeping cleaning I must.
Like flying snow flakes
And raining heavenly flowers
This sand and dust.

Mobile Phone Cancer Link wanting Less and fewer doubtless

Healthy, Evidence from a growing variety of studies doesn't support the speculation that cellphones raise the chance of brain cancer, an freelance international panel of specialists has found when completing an intensive analysis of all revealed analysis. The analysis was allotted by the ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection) Standing Committee on Epidemiology. Their findings and conclusions is found within the latest issue of Environmental Health views. Professor Anthony Swerdlow, from The Institute of Cancer analysis (ICR), and team concluded: "Although there remains some uncertainty, the trend within the accumulating proof is increasingly against the hypothesis that itinerant use will cause brain tumours in adults." This latest study follows another one coordinated by the IARC (International Agency for Cancer Research), the 13-country Interphone Study. Professor Swerdlow and team evaluated the Interphone Study rigorously and described it as impressively giant and comprehensive, however with many methodological flaws. They found no compelling proof of a link between mobile phones and therefore the location of tumors relative to their use. According to national statistics and studies from many countries, the authors stress, there's no proof of a rise in brain tumor rates up to twenty years when mobile phones were initial used, and ten years when they became commonly used. Exhaustive studies haven't detected any biological mechanism that links radiofrequency fields from cellphone to cancer risk. Even animal studies have shown no clear proof that they may cause cancer. As it isn't attainable to prove there's no impact either, as a result of information is currently restricted to ten to fifteen years of itinerant exposure in adults, individuals are doubtless to stay unsure for many years. there's no information for childhood itinerant usage. Professor Swerdlow said: "The results of Interphone and different epidemiological, biological and animal studies, and brain tumour incidence trends, recommend that among ten to fifteen years when initial use of mobile phones there's unlikely to be a cloth increase within the risk of brain tumors in adults. However, the likelihood of alittle or a extended term impact can not be dominated out." Data on cancer rates over the approaching years ought to facilitate clarify whether or not or not there's a link between itinerant usage and brain cancer. Swerdlow added: "If there aren't any apparent effects on trends within the next few years, when virtually universal exposure to mobile phones in Western countries, it'll become increasingly implausible that there's a cloth causal impact. Conversely, if there are unexplained rising trends, there'll be a case to answer." "Mobile Phones, Brain Tumours and therefore the Interphone Study: Where Are we have a tendency to Now?" Anthony J. Soundgarden reunion fell into place by chance

(Reuters) - As rock'n'roll reunions go, the current reemergence of Soundgarden after a 13-year split is sadly short of salacious intrigue.
The four members of the hard rock band, working on a new album and preparing to begin a monthlong North American tour in July, did not have to complete prison terms or rehab stints.
And, despite a report in the satirical newspaper The Onion, lead guitarist Kim Thayil was not working as a daytime supervisor at a Cinnabon baked-goods store.
Thayil, 50, who did indeed keep a low profile after the band fell apart in 1997 amid internal tensions, told Reuters on Friday that the foursome remained good friends.
They frequently saw each other socially in their Seattle hometown, including at bars, concerts and each others' homes.
"Any acrimony was toward the band as a collective, not toward any individual," he said. "We're just too interconnected, going back to the '80s with so many mutual friends and family in common."

Hitting the Bottle

SUDDENLY, there’s a baby boom going on around me. I’m making weekly shopping trips to stock friends’ nurseries, and I’m struck by how many signs on the shelves advertise BPA-free bottles, BPA-free sippy cups. It breaks my heart. Manufacturers might be removing BPA, a chemical used to harden certain plastics, from their products, but they are substituting chemicals that may be just as dangerous, if not more so.

“BPA-free” seems like a step in the right direction. BPA, or Bisphenol A, is a synthetic estrogen that disrupts normal endocrine function. There is growing evidence in animal studies that exposure during fetal growth affects the development of reproductive systems and, in offspring, can lead to neurological problems. BPA has also been linked to prostate and breast cancer.

Google says Android 'club' makes phone makers 'do what we want'

Last summer, in a private email message, the open source and compatibility program manager for Google's Android mobile operating system told a colleague that Google uses Android compatibility as a "club" to make phone makers "do what we want".

As reported by The New York Times, the email was turned up as part of the lawsuit brought against Google by Skyhook Wireless, the Boston-based outfit that pioneered the art of pinpointing a mobile device's location based on Wi-Fi and cell-tower signals. Filed this past September, Skyhook's suit accuses Google of using Android to strong-arm handset makers into choosing Google's location technology rather than Skyhook's.
In April 2010, Motorola and Samsung agreed to use Skyhook's location services, but in July, both companies dropped Skyhook in favor of Google's competing services. In its suit, Skyhook claims that Google Android boss Andy Rubin told Motorola co-CEO Sanjay Jha that if Motorola didn't drop Skyhook from its Android phones, Google would remove official Android support from the handsets. Without official support, Motorola could not use the Android trademark or proprietary Google services such as the Android Market or Google Maps. Although Google bills Android as an "open" platform, Skyhook's suit argues, the company retains tight control over how it is used.

Vairocana Buddha

"After receiving the Dharma-door of the Mind-Ground, the Buddhas seated atop the thousands of lotus flowers along with the innumerable Sakyamuni Buddhas all arose from their Lion seats, their bodies emitting innumerable rays of light. In each of these rays appeared innumerable Buddhas who simultaneously made offerings of green, yellow, red and white celestial flowers to Vairocana Buddha. They then slowly took their leave."

The Vairocana Buddha represents the Ultimate Truth in Buddhism. The Buddha adopts the mudra of truth with both hands in front of the chest, the right hand holding the left index finger. Stone and iron seated statues of the Vairocana Buddha were made from around the mid-9th century, and especially gilt-bronze Vairocana images became popular towards the end of the Unified Shilla period.

The symbolic lotus flowers, which adorn the throne upon which he sits, reflect the leadership and power the Vairocana Buddha holds over the other Buddhas. His enormous size and central position in relationship to the other figures further contributes to the image of the Vairocana Buddha as a leader, king, and divine power.
His hair, worn in a tight bun high upon his head, draws the viewer towards the smooth, broad face of the Vairocana Buddha. His face shares no signs of emotion, and his steady gaze gives him the appearance of one lost in deep meditation. This absence of vehement expression gives the Vairocana Buddha a sense of serenity and wisdom. Simple robes cling to his body, accentuating the robust figure of the Buddha. The modesty of these garments, especially in comparison to the heavily adorned Boddhisattvas, further reflect the simplicity and purity of the Vairocana Buddha’s character.
Vairochana, Buddha (Tibetan: nang par nang dze): a principal buddha within Vajrayana Buddhism.

Akshobhya Buddha

"Although born out of mire and wanted refuse, a lotus has a pleasing scent: like the wise Buddha's disciples though born among man with craving can shine brightly with wisdom."
Lord Buddha ~

The name Akshobhya means "Immovable" or "Unshakable." Akshobhya's Mirrorlike Wisdom reflects all things calmly and uncritically and--reveals their true nature. One text says,"Just as one sees one's own reflection in a mirror, so the Dharmakaya is seen in the Mirror of Wisdom."10 Mirrorlike Wisdom antidotes the poison of hatred and anger.
In the mandala of the Five Dhyani Buddhas, Akshobhya is usually positioned in the east (which is at the bottom) but he is sometimes placed in the center. His color is blue. He rules over the element of water and personifies the skandha of form. In some systems, he is associated with the skandha of consciousness. Akshobhya's lotus throne is supported by the elephant, symbol of steadfastness and strength.
His symbol is the vajra, also called the thunderbolt or diamond scepter. It is depicted in this mandala above his head, directly below Vairochana. The vajra denotes enlightenment, the indestructible, adamantine nature of pure consciousness, or the essence of Reality. In some traditions the vajra signifies the union of man and the Buddha; one end of the vajra symbolizes the macrocosmic realm of the Buddha and the other end the microcosmic realm of man.

FLOW FROM OUR MAIN GOAL IS TO ACHIEVE THESE 'THINGS WILL SELF MASTERY OF LIFE AND DEATH'.

A person who has achieved self-control birth and death itself will have to remove the line between birth and death and become a Rinpoche, which is almost equal to a Buddhist.

ONE STUDENT MUST ALSO 'NAN RECOGNIZE ONE MIND AND NATURE OF ORIGIN TO SEE MYSELF' so he is freed from all kilesa.
