Palestine wins; WikiLeaks' Manning speaks!

Pat Macpherson, Pfc. Sandoval, E. Landau, Wisdom Quarterly
Don't you dare criticize Israel, and god help you if you say the US backs war crimes!

Republicans scoff at Obama's offerThe world has spoken, through the UN, recognizing unconscionable Israeli war crimes. It runs the largest open-air prison called Gaza and the West Bank, holding a 1.2 million-plus stateless population hostage without a means of support, sufficient food or means of providing for itself, without freedom to govern itself, to control its own borders, airspace, or access to the sea.

The population is systematically dislocated (forced relocation), bombed, terrorized, given a collective case of PTSD, told to fight back and secretly supported to do so so that it can then illegally be collectively retaliated against. Where is the American military-government? Behind Israel. Where are fundamentalist Christians? Behind Israeli atrocities in the name of God and the Bible. Where is Obama and many presidents before them? Where else could they be? Israel is worth ten CIAs.

But now the UN has spoken and given Palestine "observer state" status, thereby recognizing it as a state, its population as citizens, and a providing a rare first step toward survival against Israel's genocidal activities (mass killings, blockades, arrests, indefinite detentions, etc.)

The UN voted in favor of Palestinians regardless of the threats and blow back already being imposed on member states. The US objects, but more telling is Israel's declaration that this will not change anything: Israel won't let it, announcing 3,000 illegal settlements being built on more stolen land. It does so with impunity, with US backing, and with the whole world becoming aware of what has been going on as these two actors manipulate the UN Security Council.

Why does the MIC (military-industrial complex) continue to allow the US to be brought down by Israel? Is it because its objectives are aligned in the region against human rights or the long-term survival of either country? The US has a fiscal cliff to fall off of and a currency to finish destroying. So it can't really be bothered with answering allegations of joint crimes against humanity. We've got great lawyers to work out a deal. And poor Obama has dictators to appease and entertain.

UN vote recognizes Palestine; US objects
Edith M. Lederer (Associated Press, Nov. 30, 2012)
The United Nations voted overwhelmingly Thursday to recognize a Palestinian state, a victory decades in the making for the Palestinians after years of occupation and war. It was a sharp rebuke for Israel and the United States. More

Meanwhile, the US keeps torturing accused Army whistle blower Pfc. Bradley Manning (after Obama extra-judicially convicted him in the court of public opinion because, like, who needs due process?) and makes certain Julian Assange, author of a new book, remains a embassy-captive political prisoner...

WikiLeak's Manning speaks for first time

Hero imprisoned, tortured for whistle blowing
FORT MEADE, Maryland - Private First Class Bradley Manning, the American soldier accused of leaking hundreds of thousands of classified and confidential military and diplomatic documents [showing US complicity in war crimes and their concealment as well as the day to day activity of diplomats kept illegally secret by abusing the classification process marking even mundane items "top secret" to avoid transparency and/or judicial review] to the anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks, took the stand in a military court today to make his first public statements since his arrest in 2010. Manning appeared confident and animated at a pre-trial hearing at Fort Meade in... More

Combating the Surveillance State (audio)

Glenn Greenwald, Esq. (Salon.com), AlternativeRadio.org (Program #GREG002, 2012)
Spying, snooping, prying, eavesdropping, using a mobile cell phone, call it what you want. The government is doing it on a scale never before seen. Massive corporations are doing a lot to help. Meanwhile, the same government and corporations are more secretive and un-transparent than ever.
Sophisticated new technologies allow for more intrusions into our private lives. Beyond omnipresent smart phones and cell towers remotely tracking/geo-locating, recording, and even predicting all activities, there are increasingly more cameras filming, deep data-mining, nano-second biometric identifying on innocent Americans. Nevertheless, drone aircraft are aiming at them from American skies.

The invasive monitoring of public space and the simultaneous erosion of our rights has been largely a bi-partisan affair, from Bush/Cheney to Obama/Biden. State surveillance power, undermining basic freedoms in the name of protecting them, is growing relentlessly.

The swelling domestic databases of the NSA (the little-known "National Security Administration," an American Gestapo/Stasi) and the FBI may contain our personal information.

And this burgeoning Orwellian apparatus has become a cash cow for corporations providing what are called security services. Comedian Stephen Colbert sarcastically observes, "There are bound to be casualties in the never-ending war on terror and one of them just happens to be the U.S. Constitution."

Glenn Greenwald is a lawyer and the author of How Would a Patriot Act? and Great American Hypocrites. He is the recipient of the Izzy Award from the Park Center for Independent Media for his "pathbreaking journalistic courage and persistence in confronting conventional wisdom, official deception, and controversial issues." He also received an Online Journalism Award for Best Commentary for his coverage of U.S. Army Private Bradley Manning. Greenwald is a columnist and blogger at Salon.com and his articles appear in various newspapers and magazines.

The Most Dangerous Man in America (videos)

Wisdom Quarterly

Bradley Manning protesters call out Pres. B.S. Obama (again)
() The Occupy Movement in Oakland has a new target now: Obama. One hundred protesters occupied his campaign office calling for the release of US Army Pfc. Bradley Manning. They invaded the offices of the Obama re-election campaign in California and stayed inside for hours before being forced out by police. RT Correspondent Ramon Galindo brings the latest from LA.

The Most Dangerous Man in America
() In 1971 a top military strategist working for the RAND Corporation named Daniel Ellsberg leaked a 7,000-page document known as the "Pentagon Papers" to the New York Times, which committed high crimes and misdemeanors that would get WikiLeak's Julian Assange torture and life imprisonment in America by leaking the classified information the public. Disenchanted with the nation's conduct in Vietnam (Cambodia, and Laos), Ellsberg believed the release of the top secret paper -- which outlined the "secret history" of its illegal war of aggression -- was crucial to educating the public about the government's lies and atrocities. This documentary chronicles the media and political frenzy that Ellsberg unleashed and traces the effect of the leak on public perception of both the US war on Vietnam and the White House (as well as revealing the existence of a "military-industrial complex" independent of the government).

The Organization of American States convened on Friday to discuss the case of Julian Assange, while the UK and Ecuador remain locked in a diplomatic battle. Ecuador's Pres. Correa has granted the founder of WikiLeaks asylum. But the problem for Assange is how to get safe passage from the Ecuadorian embassy in London to the airport. UK law endorsement officials are threatening the whistleblower. Eva Golinger, attorney and author, joins RT's Liz Wahl to discuss.

WikiLeaks' Julian granted asylum in Ecuador

Pat Macpherson, Dhr. Seven, Pfc. Sandoval, Wisdom Quarterly (ANALYSIS)
(veteranstoday.com)

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who forestalled extradition to Sweden (then abduction to the US for torture and silencing) from the UK by asking for humanitarian asylum from Ecuador while residing safely in its London embassy, has been granted permission to remain in the embassy indefinitely.

The US/UK will not stand for it. Assange is wanted for questioning -- never having been charged -- by Sweden. But Sweden, in fact, does not want to question him about trumped up sexual offenses, for if it did it would come to England and conduct an interview. Instead, it is being pressured and guided by the US to get hold of the Australian citizen and then extradite him to America.

England is now contemplating the unthinkable: It is threatening to break into sovereign Ecuador's embassy, which like all embassies is regarded as Ecuadorian soil. Therefore, it claims to be planning an invasion.

Prosecuting Pfc. Bradley Manning contradicts every principle of whistle blower protection, freedom of the press, and free speech rights. If Manning is guilty then so are all people, papers, and other mainstream media outlets that have ever disseminated secret leaked information.

Violating Pakistan's sovereignty for PsyOps plan to pretend the real Osama was murdered

Similarly, if Assange is allowed to be silenced, disappeared, or indefinitely imprisoned in super-max facilities in the US, and entire organization is being silenced for whistle blowing. Manning, as a US soldier, had a personal legal responsibility to reveal American military crimes.

Assange as an Australian national was clearly within his rights to published leaked materials like an media outlet enabled by the worldwide Web. But because it revealed war crimes and plans of the only remaining superpower, it has not gone unpunished in contradiction to international law.
  • Will Americans stand silently by? Will we be complicit? (Germany was once a superpower, and precious few Germans spoke out when it counted. What will we do?)
The military says B.S. Obama did not kill Osama bin Laden; Americans did. I did not. Only those who applaud and approve of it did. SEAL Team 6 are not bragging about extrajudicially executing a man in long-dead Osama's place. Obama is bragging. Hillary Clinton is bragging. Joe Biden is bragging. Now the military is speaking out against its commander in chief even as he remains in office.
Dishonorable Disclosures

I didn't mean to brag about StuxNet and Iran?
Intelligence and Special Operations forces are furious and frustrated at how Pres. Obama and those in positions of authority have exploited their service for political advantage.

Countless leaks, disclosures, interviews, and decisions by the Obama Administration and other officials have undermined the success of the Military-Industrial Complex's Intelligence and Special Operations forces and put future missions and personnel at risk.

Dishonorable disclosures are so serious that for the first time former operators have agreed to risk their reputations and go on the record in this special documentary.

Its goal is to educate Americans about serious breaches of security by the Obama Administration (largely ignoring those of the previous administration and its Valerie Plame outing) and prevent them from ever happening again. (Use of military ranks, titles, and photographs in uniform does not imply endorsement of the Dept. of the Army or the Department of [War]. All individuals are no longer in active service with any federal agency or military service).
