Mayan Calendar may not end in our 2012

Dhr. Seven, Wisdom Quarterly; LiveScience.com; Kevin Todeschi (A.R.E.) UPDATED
The Maya had calendars and  time "synchronizers," not unlike this Aztec version. They do not correspond to our degenerate Gregorian calendar. For our simplistic chart was designed to distance us from cycles associated with the stars, planets, astrology, and the 13 annual phases of the Moon.

How to read the calendar
Predictions about the Mayan calendar may be greatly exaggerated, which is to say: The world may not be coming to an end on December 21, 2012.

(Needless frenzy? Do we remember demanding toxic, autism-inducing "swine flu" vaccinations for our kids -- creating a profit bonanza for pharmaceutical companies and giving governments greater control?)
But a chapter in a new textbook, Calendars and Years II: Astronomy and Time in the Ancient and Medieval World (Oxbow Books, 2010), could throw off all those ominously titled Discovery Channel specials. According to Live Science, Professor Gerardo Aldana of the University of California at Santa Barbara writes that methods for converting the Mayan calendar to the popular Gregorian calendar are inaccurate by 50 to 100 years. The Tzolkin: A Religious Time Keeper
Wisdom Quarterly (COMMENTARY)
Tzolkin (mayanmajix.com)
The Tzolkin ("Sacred") Synchronary was not a calendar as such. It used a 260-day cycle in use throughout Mesoamerica and not only by the Maya. The sky "gods" (Buddhist akasha-deva and/or asura extraterrestrial visitors) provided it.

The Maya's startlingly advanced society -- like that of the Khmer empire centered in Cambodia but extending its influence throughout Southeast Asia (like that of the Mesoamerican Olmecs, Toltecs, and Aztecs on this continent) -- was consumed by reptilians (Buddhist nagas). They are still here influencing human affairs.

The Tzolkin may be the oldest "calendar" in the Mayan system of calendars and may have been the most important. The others kept track of cosmic cycles of time (Buddhist kalpas), time spans too enormous to be of significance for short-lived human cultures. But they were very important to extraterrestrials.

But that the world's ancient "myths" could be more history than fantasy is simply too hard for modern earthlings to believe. So why talk about it? Better to worry needlessly about Doomsday or dismiss all Mayan Calendar talk as a hoax. However, the America's "Sleeping Prophet," Edgar Cayce, had much to say about the shift to a New Age, which the Maya (Mayans) framed not as the end of this world but the end of that cycle.

Edgar Cayce on 2012
 Edgar Cayce (edgarcaycecatalog.org)
To the most famous American psychic of all time, 2012 is only the arrival of a New Age -- according to Kevin Todeschi, executive director and CEO of Edgar Cayce's A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment).

The Brave New World Order is not about the supremacy of some nations over others. Instead, it is about a new focus for the world as a whole. We are caretakers of one another. Cayce's readings describe that responsibility in this way:
  • "Make of thine OWN heart an understanding that thou must answer for thine own brother, for thine own neighbor! And who is thine neighbor? He that lives next door, or he that lives on the other side of the world? He, rather, that is in NEED of understanding! He who has faltered; he who has fallen even by the way. HE is thine neighbor, and thou must answer for him!" (Edgar Cayce Reading #3976-8)
The next age, the new cycle -- starting on December 21, 2012 -- will eventually embody an understanding of this focus. Welcome to the Age of Aquarius.

Nazi Space Buddha and quotes are fake

Seven Dharmachari, Ashley Wells, Amber Dorrian, Wisdom Quarterly
Fake New Agey "Buddha quotes" very quickly become popular (fakebuddhaquotes.com)

A famous fake Buddha quote (H-K-D)
Sad news on the Buddhist front -- more fake Buddha quotes. But "fake" cuts both ways: The "Nazi Space Buddha" or Iron Man statue we reported on earlier this month turns out to be fake. And strangely some fake Buddha quotes are very good, so good they should have been said by someone, maybe Taoists. But they certainly weren't said by the historical Shakyamuni Buddha. The sincere photographer H. Kopp Delaney is doing a great deal to promote 108 authentic and inauthentic "Buddha quotes" thus littering the Web with many great fakes.

Nazis' meteorite Buddha fake

Iron Man with swastika (Stuttgart U./Elmar Buchner)
A supposed Buddhist statue allegedly carved from a meteorite 1,000 years ago may not be as ancient as suspected, according to a Buddhism expert who argues that the statue may be a 20th-century fake.

The criticisms don't target the material the statue is carved from, which is an iron- and nickel-rich meteorite from the Siberia-Mongolia border.

But outside experts are questioning the statue's origins.

Achim Bayer, a Buddhism expert at Dongguk University in South Korea, argues in a new report that the Buddha statue [which is not a statue of the Buddha but of a purported Buddhist "deity" from space -- like Sakka, who is King of Kings (deva-maha-rajas) and Lord of Lords (of the Spaceport of the Thirty-Three or Tavatimsa-deva-rajas), or the Sky-King Vessavana, a maha-raja of one quadrant of the sky/space visible from Earth] has obvious "pseudo-Tibetan features," marking it as a European reproduction likely made between 1910 and 1970.

[Nazis loved searching for UFO artifacts and time-travel technology, abandoned bases and gold mines, advanced Vril technology. They also sought social remnants of "Aryan" -- a much maligned Buddhist, Hindu, Jain term that rather than racial "purity" refers to spiritual nobility -- cultures around the world, particularly in Antarctica, where Nazis set up a new country called New Swabia, and Tibet, where official Nazi emissaries -- inspired by the spiritual writings of Russian psychic Madame Blavatsky and American Theosophists as well as other-worldly beings -- befriended Vajrayana Buddhists. Tibetans had set up a Vatican-style church-state with a pope-like figure who served as their temporal-spiritual dictator, a post now occupied by the beloved fourteenth man to fill that post, Tenzin Gyatso, the current Dalai Lama.]

Swastikas appear on statues (GT)
Among these features are European-like shoes that come to the ankles rather than boots; trousers instead of robes; tube-shaped sleeves unlike those seen on traditional Tibetan or Mongolian garb; a full beard, which is not seen on Tibetan and Mongolian deity sculptures; an unusual single earring; and a cape that resembles one worn by Romans rather than ancient Tibetan deities.

MAPS is a leading journal
In their original paper published in the journal Meteoritics & Planetary Science, Stuttgart University researcher Elmar Bucher and colleagues reported that the Buddha statue first came to Germany after a 1938-1939 Tibet expedition by zoologist and ethnologist Ernst Schäfer, who was sent to the region by the Nazi party to find the origin of Aryan language and culture. The statue then passed into the hands of a private owner. More

Buddhists from space leave crop circle?

Amy Oliver, DailyMail.co.uk, Aug. 13, 2012; Wisdom Quarterly
Intricate crop circle of Buddhist symbol for infinite time and wisdom appears in crop field
Buddhist endless knot symbol illustrates perceptions of reality.
This is the latest intricate crop circle to appear overnight in a British wheat field.

The mysterious pattern resembles the ancient Tibetan Buddhist symbol of an "endless knot" -- a complex loop of lines and circles to illustrate the eternal flow of time.used

The symbol has many meanings, but because it has no beginning and no end, many people who follow the religion say it represents the wisdom of the Buddha.

"Been reading the Dhammapada."
This endless knot crop circle has been carved into a field at Cheesefoot Head, Winchester near the A272 motorway. Amateur pilot Matthew Williams snapped the pattern near Cheesefoot Head, Hampshire.
He said: "I’m a bit of a sceptic. But this is such an intricate design, I don’t know who could make such a thing." He added, "To me, there’s such peace and calm emanating from this formation! The tangled mass of twists and turns release some great energy when you realize it is an unbroken line."

By walking from any one point in this huge formation, it is possible to walk all the way around, covering every inch of carved-out path and return to the start [just as wisdom emanates from and returns to the heart].

Crop circles have been appearing in fields throughout the summer. Some believe they are signs left by space aliens and UFOs. But others think they are made by pranksters. [There is little doubt that both are true.] More
