Judyth Vary Baker, author of Me & Lee: How I Came to Know, Love & Lose Lee Harvey Oswald, will appear in person and discuss her book. Baker's explosive story brings new insight to the role of Lee Harvey Oswald in the JFK assassination. She is a living witness to events that changed America. In 1963, Ms. Baker attended Univ. of Florida and was involved in advanced cancer research involving radiation and human melanoma cells, focused on evaluating the effects of the cancerous SV-40 virus contained in early polio vaccines.
In the Spring of 1963, Baker was contacted by Dr. Alton Ochsner, former President of the American Cancer Society and founder of the Ochsner Medical Clinic, to work on a summer project in New Orleans involving the transference of cancer via vaccine and its possible cure. During the course of this internship, Ms. Baker meets Lee Harvey Oswald, who becomes her constant companion, and eventually, her lover.
Oswald is also associated with the Oschner project. The cancer research Ms. Baker is working on, she soon learns, is tied to efforts to kill Cuba's President Fidel Castro, possibly by a tainted cancer-inducing vaccine. Dr. Oschner is a supporter of anti-Communist activities.
Although Ms. Baker eventually returns to Florida, she remained in phone contact with Lee Oswald until Nov. 20, 1963, just two days before the JFK assassination. Her book, Me and Lee, recounts the events of 1963 and the words of her final conversation with Oswald.
During her US tour, Ms. Baker will be speaking at the Roxy Theater in San Francisco on Nov. 22, the 49th anniversary of the JFK assassination, which falls on Thanksgiving this year. If the devas (demigods, divas, deities) can't stay together, what hope is there for us mere mortals? The devas are the unbelievably beautiful hybrid space people. Aliens, far from being little green men, are Nordic blonds with dreamily-colored eyes, powerful Amazonians, and so on.
They create bloodlines that hold the world enthralled with their shenanigans: Note the behavior of the ancient Roman, Greek, and Indian pantheons as well as the Pharaoh and European royalty.
They suffer from more cupidity, lust, reckless abandon, jealousy, vengeance, spite, and pettiness than the humans who adore them. Plus they are long-lived, radiant, and (usually) graceful.

The Buddha advised the deva-adoring Indian public of his day to -- rather than adoring, worshipping, and/or asking boons of the "shining ones" -- recollect the devas' virtues (deva-anussati). Consider the fact that by way of karma, one can be reborn a deva. That is not so difficult in the scheme of things. Keeping the precepts, five or eight, is enough. If one does nothing more, one need not even wish for this result. It may happen on its own. The correspondence is startling. Do the people of today not behave exactly as they did in days of olde? Fans and fanatics for pantheons -- Vedic, Roman, Greek, Egyptian, Sumerian, Gobekli Tepe, and extending back into our misty prehistory drawing on cave walls. Here is the recollection the Buddha taught (AN 11.13):
Recollect the devas: "There are the devas of the Four Great Space Kings, the devas of the space Realm of the Thirty-Three, the devas of the Hours, the Contented Devas, the devas who delight in creation, the devas who wield power over others' creations, the devas of Brahma's retinue, the devas beyond them.

An Egyptian jihad leader, with self-professed links to the [CIA's] Taliban, called for the “destruction of the Sphinx and the Giza Pyramids in Egypt,” drawing ties between the Egyptian relics and Buddha statues [in Bamiyan, Afghanistan], local media reported this week.
Murgan Salem al-Gohary, an Islamist leader twice-sentenced under former President Hosni Mubarak for advocating violence, called on Muslims to remove such “idols.”
Well, after sleeping on it, let's keep them.
“All Muslims are charged with applying the teachings of Islam to remove such idols, as we did in Afghanistan when we destroyed the Buddha statues,” he said on Saturday during a television interview on an Egyptian private channel, widely watched by Egyptian and Arab audiences.
“God ordered Prophet Mohammed to destroy idols,” he added. “When I was with the Taliban we destroyed the statue of Buddha, something the government failed to do.”
His comments came a day after thousands of ultraconservative Islamists gathered in Tahrir Square to call for the strict application of Sharia law in the new constitution.
But in retaliation to Gohary’s remarks, the vice president of Tunisia’s Ennahda party, Sheikh Abdel Fattah Moro, called the live program and told Gohary that famous historic military commander Amr ibn al-Aas did not destroy statues when he conquered Egypt.
“So who are you to do it?” he wondered. “The Prophet destroyed the idols because people worshipped them, but the Sphinx and the Pyramids are not worshiped.”
Gohary, 50, is well-known in Egypt for his advocacy of violence, Egypt Independent reported.
“He was sentenced twice, one of the two sentences being life imprisonment. He subsequently fled Egypt to Afghanistan... In 2007, he traveled from Pakistan to Syria, which then handed him over to Egypt. After Mubarak's fall in early 2011, he was released from prison by a judicial ruling,” the newspaper added. More

If it's God's will, who are we to argue? As Holy Book-obeying Christians and Muslims, we must follow leaders like Gohary into battle against these graven images and idols.
It's not The God's will, it's His command. (Kinda makes one wonder why He doesn't do it Himself, but who are we to question the almighty star-god?)

And it's not just him. The CIA created the "Taliban" from released prisoners in Pakistan and elsewhere, bringing them to a foreign land that did not practice violent jihad or Wahhabi-ism. What happened to the Buddhas of Bamiyan, Afghanistan, some of the largest in the world, and more recently to Buddhist rock art in Pakistan, is not an aberration of erratic Muslims.
These are staged activities -- staged by the CIA and US military PsyOps -- to infuriate otherwise peaceful bystanders. Why, for what? So that we will turn the other way whatever is done to our Muslim brothers and sisters. When we listen to religious edicts, particularly those of the barbaric Near East, we engage in a history of violence, from religious crusades, to imperial raids, to hegemony, and attempts at world domination.
How? Fear. In fear we kill, less often out of greed, and least often out of hate -- but always, always, co-motivated by delusion.
Whether Mr. Gotary really wants to destroy Egyptian heritage, long the pride of mathematically-amazing Muslims, it is no reason to call for or condone wars and attacks.
If propaganda says kill, let live. If propaganda says be afraid, live. Live and let live.
Maybe the CIA or extremist Christians and pious Islamists will demolish all art, particularly those gorgeous Greek nudes. So? That's on them. Stopping the destruction of arts and antiquities never needs to come to violence. Protection is defensive not offensive. Religious extremism is all around us.
The Near East has better reason to fear Judeo-Christian attacks than the West need fear the Near or Middle East.
But we would never know that because the mainstream media and the propaganda arm of our military constantly beats the drum of fear and war until we are ready to sign off on any atrocity -- drones, extrajudicial killings, assassinations, invasions, oil theft, rape, pedophilia, slavery, radioactive poisoning (particularly from the use of "depleted" uranium which is anything but depleted), and secret war crimes and unspeakable crimes against humanity we are not generally made aware of such as purposely contaminating water supplies, bombing hospitals, and worse.

Former head of the US War on Afghanistan in charge of surges (just as he had committed similar atrocities in our name in Iraq), Four Star General Petraeus (pronounced: "betray us") got caught up in an FBI investigation that revealed hundreds of inappropriate and improper messages between "Saint Petraeus" -- as he was known by many in the military, The Company (CIA), and West Point (his alma mater) where he was related by marriage to the man in charge there -- and his mistress. Every drone is a war crime.
But Gen. Petraeus did more than target "high value assets" for murder (internationally illegal political assassinations) via distant screens, he also saw to it that the military-industrial complex (MIC) got everything it paid and wished for from its preplanned invasion of Afghanistan. Cheating on his wife of 37 years was not enough to cause him to quit, a mere lapse in virtue for a man in the business of killing, invading sovereign territory, and engaging in Psychological Operations (propaganda's new name, known in Newspeak as PsyOps).

He was given the opportunity to do the honorable thing of resigning under duress since he had compromised American security, a crime Pfc. Bradley Manning is being put through the wringer for doing in the capacity of a legally-protected whistleblower, duty-bound to report the crimes he did. Now the newly re-elected President Obama has the opportunity to thank the MIC that arranged for his second term by letting them decide who will now make a better hawk than the disgraced general. What will happen to him? He is likely to sink into obscurity as the President of Princeton University.

Moreover, what will this mean to the priceless Buddhist treasures in Mes Aynak, Logar Province, Afghanistan? There is hope that a change in plans might allow them to survive. Yet it seems more likely that the replacement will attempt to prove himself valuable to the MIC via more surges. This will impoverish Afghanistan further, making them desperate for income from China, and scare China further, which will make it more determined to extract copper and the much more valuable rare earth minerals used in the production of electronics, like the slave-manufactured iPhones in the enormous Foxconn plantation.
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who forestalled extradition to Sweden (then abduction to the US for torture and silencing) from the UK by asking for humanitarian asylum from Ecuador while residing safely in its London embassy, has been granted permission to remain in the embassy indefinitely.
The US/UK will not stand for it. Assange is wanted for questioning -- never having been charged -- by Sweden. But Sweden, in fact, does not want to question him about trumped up sexual offenses, for if it did it would come to England and conduct an interview. Instead, it is being pressured and guided by the US to get hold of the Australian citizen and then extradite him to America.
England is now contemplating the unthinkable: It is threatening to break into sovereign Ecuador's embassy, which like all embassies is regarded as Ecuadorian soil. Therefore, it claims to be planning an invasion.
Prosecuting Pfc. Bradley Manning contradicts every principle of whistle blower protection, freedom of the press, and free speech rights. If Manning is guilty then so are all people, papers, and other mainstream media outlets that have ever disseminated secret leaked information.

Similarly, if Assange is allowed to be silenced, disappeared, or indefinitely imprisoned in super-max facilities in the US, and entire organization is being silenced for whistle blowing. Manning, as a US soldier, had a personal legal responsibility to reveal American military crimes.
Assange as an Australian national was clearly within his rights to published leaked materials like an media outlet enabled by the worldwide Web. But because it revealed war crimes and plans of the only remaining superpower, it has not gone unpunished in contradiction to international law.
Will Americans stand silently by? Will we be complicit? (Germany was once a superpower, and precious few Germans spoke out when it counted. What will we do?)
The military says B.S. Obama did not kill Osama bin Laden; Americans did. I did not. Only those who applaud and approve of it did. SEAL Team 6 are not bragging about extrajudicially executing a man in long-dead Osama's place. Obama is bragging. Hillary Clinton is bragging. Joe Biden is bragging. Now the military is speaking out against its commander in chief even as he remains in office.
Intelligence and Special Operations forces are furious and frustrated at how Pres. Obama and those in positions of authority have exploited their service for political advantage.
Countless leaks, disclosures, interviews, and decisions by the Obama Administration and other officials have undermined the success of the Military-Industrial Complex's Intelligence and Special Operations forces and put future missions and personnel at risk.
Dishonorable disclosures are so serious that for the first time former operators have agreed to risk their reputations and go on the record in this special documentary.

The droplets of news that are coming out of Tibet suggest that protests continue in pockets as does violent repression. At least eight people were reportedly killed in a remote town in Sichuan province Thursday in a protest sparked by an attempt to force monks to participate in an education campaign.
James: Re-education camps are nothing new to dictatorships. Soviet Communist Russia and Nazi Germany were two classic examples of this kind of absurd propaganda. The other major example in history being, of course, Communist China.
One 27 year old monk in Tibet participated in his first party-led education session in 1993. He did not have to sign a denunciation that time but had to condemn the Dalai Lama in front of his fellow monks. "I had to be very active, had to prove I was really patriotic, so I can pass the exam," he said."In order to stay in the monastery, I did this. I clearly know the other monks did not do this from their hearts, and not me, either."
James: I am sure that the Chinese government is furious over these protests and demonstrations but they are reaping what they have sown for decades. It is karma catching up with them. I do realize however that most of these party officials don't believe in karma but they can not deny the suffering and problems that can result from the law of cause and effect which is a scientific principle.
And I know that science is something that Communism DOES believe in.
