Sugar Cane Farmers onerous Hit by Competition

Slawi:The circulation of refined sugar within the free market is threatening the assembly of ground sugar cane in Indonesian provinces. “I’m worried that the tender of this week’s grinding production are going to be low,” Muhamad Rintono, the Tegal Indonesian Sugar Cane Farmers’ Association chairman, said yesterday.

According to Rintono, the provision of refined sugar has broken the prospects of sugar canes farmers in Tegal, who are bound they'll have a top quality harvest. Tegal Agriculture, Plantation and Forestry workplace chief Karwadi, said that refined sugar was circulated as a result of a scarcity of management from the central government. “As a consequence, farmers within the province, as well as Tegal, are going to be affected,” he said.
