What is the meaning of the Precepts?

He means 'morality' and the Buddha advises us to practice the Five Elements in Sila implementation:

  1. Abstain from killing any living creature.
  2. Avoiding taking something that is not provided.
  3. Avoiding acts of adultery.
  4. Abstain from lying and false speech.
  5. Avoiding the consumption of intoxicating drinks and drugs.
These precepts are not commandments but regulations diamalkan by Buddhists as part daripelatihan self. They are observed not because of fear of punishment but because we realize that such actions harm others as well ourselves. For example, as we ourselves do not want to be killed or injured, we realize that all other beings also do not want to be killed or injured. Likewise as we do not wish become victims of theft, adultery, lies and slander, we have to avoid themselves from the action those of others. The Buddha also strongly recommends avoiding intoxicants and drugs forbidden. For when you are under the influence of alcohol and illicit drugs, you are able to perform actions that you would not have done otherwise. If you break the precepts, the Buddhist way is to be fully aware that you have do, try your best to make amends, and then resolve to try harder in the future.
Morality is the foundation upon which everything else rests. Therefore, good enough to memorize five Sila so that you can notice at any time.
And when practice five precepts has in itself be part of your attitude, development of positive aspects will become easy and natural, namely:
  1. Implementing Love-love and Compassion.
  2. Implementing Kindness and generosity.
  3. Implementing Loyalty and Responsibility.
  4. Honesty and Speech practice fun.
  5. Practice self-control and vigilance.
