Surakarta:The central government plans to import rice and distribute it to areas with rice shortages. Surakarta Logistic workplace head Tri Fajaryanto said Surakarta would be one in all the areas to receive the support. “There might be a rice shortage from December 2011 till March 2012,” he said yesterday.
Tri said the rice stock at the State Logistics Agency, totalling twenty nine,400 tons, wasn't last till November, assuming that monthly rice consumption in Surakarta stays at seven,000 tons.
